Proper and professional rug cleaning is so much more than scrubbing. It’s a fine balance between science and art. Because rugs from around the world have different inherent characteristics, knowing how each are constructed is one of the tools we use to improve the overall cleaning process. Understanding fiber dye science (vegetal and synthetic) is another. Our rug care system was designed to provide each rug with the best, safest, and most thorough attention.
Regular cleaning will remove pet hair, stains, odors, dust, pollen and other allergens, keeping your home a healthier place to be, and small repairs can be attended to before they become large ones.
It’s through our ongoing education, training, and practical experience that we remain industry leaders. It’s our dedication to exquisite customer service that has our customers coming back year after year!
Chicago’s Exquisite Rug Cleaning System:
Pre-Inspection and photo documentation takes place before we begin working on your rug. We will answer your questions and address any concerns we may have. If adjustments need to be made to our process, this is when we will make them.
Dry Soil Removal is essential to ensuring the best cleaning possible. This helps to remove the embedded gritty soil that regular vacuuming leaves behind. If a rug is too fragile or damaged for traditional dusting, we will proceed carefully by hand.
Dye Stability Testing is important because most rugs are cleaned with water. If there is a chance that the dyes will be unstable, we need to know before getting the rug wet! We are able to adjust our cleaning method if a rug does exhibit dye instability, minimizing any potential color shift.
Pre-Spotting, Cleaning, and Rinsing happen next. Depending on the rug’s construction, fiber type, reason for the cleaning (pet stains, etc), and soil level, we will come up with a safe, dye stable method to clean your rug and fringes. We thoroughly rinse with clear, cold water until no cleaning residues are visible. It should be noted that while we do our best to treat and remove as many stains as possible, there is no way to guarantee complete removal. Your rugs are never washed in a tub with other rugs.
Speed Drying is essential to avoid any fiber discoloration, dye migration, and possible shrinkage. All rugs are susceptible to some degree of shrinkage, but by drying your rugs quickly, we minimize the potential for shrinkage and help eliminate the conditions that may cause it. We cannot guarantee that your rug will not show some degree of shrinkage, but we can guarantee that we will do our very best to avoid the possibility of it.
Grooming & Post-Inspection is an integral part of keeping our customers happy! The pile is set, the fringes are combed out, and any concerns brought up during the pre-inspection are quality checked before delivery.
NOTE: Before your rug is returned to you, let us know if you would like us to apply a moth protector, re-apply fiber protector, repair any pre-existing damage, custom fit a new rug pad, or wrap your rugs for storage.
